Hobby Hunt (Final Year Project)

Information

Hobby Hunt was created as a part of my final year project during my studies of Multimedia Graphics at Staffordshire University. It is a social networking website aimed at an elderly demographic which has an emphasis on real-life meet ups and social arrangements rather than virtual communication.

Accessibility was vert important for this project given the generaly aged users of the website. For this reason every page conforms to W3C validation and WCAG guidelines as outlined by the W3C.

Hobby Hunt allows a user to enter their hobbies in their profile and then search the system for events based on these hobbies, or events in their local area. This is the main feature of Hobby Hunt and it is hoped that this, combined with an upcoming government initiative to provide computers to the elderly will create social interaction between currently isolated people.
